No for personal local use. Today Available, categories, calculator, currency conversion, and local spending work without signing in. Google sign-in is required for paid Cloud Backup and for Family / Group shared workspaces so membership and sync can be tied to your account. Testers also need a Google account to join the group and install from Play.
Yes for personal core features — Today Available, calculator, converter, and category tracking are free to use, with ads. Free installs include up to 4 categories. Exporting as PDF/CSV can use a limited free rewarded-ad unlock, a $0.99 export credit, the one-time $6.99 Lifetime Export Pass, or Cloud Backup while subscribed. Cloud Backup and Family / Group are separate Google Play subscriptions and use Google sign-in.
Today Available is your daily spending allowance from the period’s daily budget pool, including carryover from unused earlier days when applicable. It works the same way in a Personal workspace and in a Family / Group workspace. It is a budget guide — not a bank balance or financial advice.
Family / Group is an optional shared workspace with its own budget, categories, expenses, and income. The Owner subscribes via Google Play ($7.99/month or $76.99/year), invites people by email, and assigns roles. Personal spending never mixes into a Family ledger. Each account may join or create up to 3 Family workspaces, and own at most 2 of them.
The Owner sends an invitation to a Google email. The invitee opens the link (or the in-app deep link), signs in with that same Google account, and accepts. If they are signed in with a different email, RatePocket shows an account check and asks them to switch. Invitations expire; cancelled invites cannot be reused.

Cloud Backup is an optional Google Play subscription ($1.99/month or $14.99/year) for personal data. It requires an active subscription and Google sign-in. While both are in place, RatePocket can back up and sync personal spending history, restore on a new phone, unlock unlimited exports, and raise the category limit to 14. Family / Group sync is separate and requires the Family plan. Ads stay on. Cancel anytime in Google Play.
Core features work without an account. If you used Cloud Backup or Family / Group, open Settings → Account & data → Delete account while signed in, or use the Delete account page / email support.tradali@gmail.com. Leaving or deleting a Family workspace is separate from cancelling a Play subscription — see that page.
